Description: Formulations having a selective, mycoherbicide activity for killing ungerminated seeds of invasive grass species are provided. An agricultural, mycoherbicide formulation is taught for killing ungerminated seeds of invasive grass species. The formulations can comprise, for example, a slow-growing strain of Pyrenophora semeniperda, a fast-growing strain of Pyrenophora semeniperda, or a combination thereof, and an agriculturally acceptable carrier. As such, the teachings include a composition comprising a mixture of a slow-growing strain of Pyrenophora semeniperda and a fast-growing strain of Pyrenophora semeniperda. The mixture of strains can be used to provide a mixture of virulence that is useful for killing carryover seed banks, with regard to both type and level of virulence.
Keywords: mycoherbicide, Pyrenophora semeniperda
