Description: Descriptions and summaries of completed and ongoing long-term research studies (those in existence for 5 or more years) conducted by scientists of the USDA Forest Service's former Southern Forest Experiment Station (now part of the Southern Research Station) are presented in this report. The array of data bases at the Southern Station includes forest surveys, genetics studies, watershed experiments, silviculture studies, and many other subjects. The purpose of this publication is to inform the public of the successful long-term research , accomplished and ongoing, at the Southern Forest Experiment Station and to encourage scientists from other institutions to utilize the data that have resulted from this research.
