Publication Series: Research Paper (RP)

Description: Describes one approach to ecologically based classification of upland forest community types of the White and Green Mountain physiographic regions. The classification approach is based on an intensive statistical analysis of the relationship between the communities and soil-site factors. Discriminant functions useful in distinguishing between types based on soil-site factors most strongly correlated with their distribution over the landscape are presented.
