Title: A classification system for predicting pallet part quality from hardwood cants

Description: Producers who manufacture pallet parts from hardwood cants generally must purchase cants on the basis of existing structural timber grades that do not adequately reflect the quality of pallet parts produced from resawed cants. A system for classifying cants for pallet part production has been developed that more accurately reflects the parts grade mix that can be produced from each of the new cant classes. A formula is given to determine value relatives for each cant class.
