Description: This paper presents a step-by-step procedure for designing the "best" sequence of saw spacings for a fixed-blade gang ripsaw arbor. Using the information contained in a cutting bill and knowledge of the lumber width distributions to be processed, thousands of possible saw spacing sequences can be reduced to a few good ones.
