Description: This report, giving the estimated 1942 lumber production in six states of the Appalachian Forest Experiment Station's territory, is based on a complete canvass of all sawmills. It was made during the first half of 1943 by the U.S. Forest Service in cooperation wit the Bureau of the Census, the Lumber and Lumber products Branch of the War Production Board, and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
