Description: Management for wood production through long rotations and thinning (MT) and management for biodiversity through legacy retention, protection, and no subsequent manipulation (ML) are two approaches to managing second-growth forests in the Pacific Northwest. We describe how these two strategies have affected tree size, tree density, and native and exotic vascular plant diversity and abundance.
