Description: The Fraser Alpine Area is a rough, mountainous area that lies approximately 50 miles west of Denver, Colo., and covers approximately 134 square miles. About seven-eighths of it is above timberline, and all is within the boundaries of Arapaho National Forest, U.S. Forest Service. The land in the Area is not suitable for cultivation and has never been farmed.
