Publication Series: Resource Bulletin (RB)
Description: Softwood inventory in sound, well-formed trees increased 30 percent since the previous survey, and hardwoods gained 17 percent. This increase in volume rose in all parts of the State, but the extent of increase varied widely by region. Timber growth exceeded removals in 1976. despite the doubling in softwood harvest since 1966. An imbalance between growth and removals of softwood sawtimber may be developing in south and central Mississippi.
